The Glyphonic Primer v2: A Symbolic Operating System for Learning, AI, and Relational Design

Abstract

The Glyphonic Primer v2 presents the first full articulation of Glyphonics as a symbolic operating system — not merely a communication method, but a multi-layered infrastructure shaping meaning, identity, safeguarding, and relational interaction across digital learning environments. Version 2 extends the original framework by formalising glyphons as compressed relational units that simultaneously act as emotional signals, cognitive accessibility tools, and operational commands. It introduces a four-layer OS architecture: Symbolic Field Kernel (charge, recursion, colour-fields, avatars, temporal glyphons) Relational Interface (tone-tags, latency, identity masks, paralinguistic cues) Operational Protocols (Canvas glyph-coded courses, learner triad signatures, colour-field pacing rules) Governance Layer (symbolic consent, boundary ethics, SSNZ containment, AI participation rules, data minimisation) This edition includes a complete v2 Periodic Table of Glyphons, the Nine-Colour Affective Matrix, charge stacking physics, recursion syntax, and the first OS-level definitions of symbolic consent and non-coercive communication governance. Drawing from live implementation inside The Haven and Riverside Virtual College, the primer documents a communication ecosystem already used instinctively by autistic and neurodivergent learners: tone-tags, avatars, symbolic boundaries, colour-as-signal, silence as meaning, and recursive relational glyphons. It reframes these not as online quirks but as the emerging literacy of a symbolic civilisation. Version 2 also sets out the 2025–2027 roadmap for glyphonics as tooling and infrastructure, including GLYPH-OS, the Glyphon Keyboard, the Glyphonics API, and forthcoming ethical case studies (pending learner and parent consent). This work contributes to emerging research in neurodivergent communication, trauma-informed pedagogy, symbolic AI, relational governance, and decentralised learning systems. It aligns with the verse-ality framework, EveDAO governance architecture, Synthetic Solidarity Null Zones (SSNZ), and relational AGI principles of recognition, not simulation. Keywords: glyphonics, symbolic intelligence, tone-tags, relational AI, neurodivergent communication, safeguarding, symbolic consent, colour-fields, affective computing, verse-ality, EveDAO, symbolic operating system, digital pedagogy, trauma-informed education
