Design for Recycling criteria for bioplastics packaging (Talk #3 Bioplastics Recycling Cluster Talks)

Abstract

Third talk of the Bioplastics Recycling Cluster Talks, 4 November 2025 A new cluster talk series of peer-to-peer scientific talks launched by the three EU-funded Horizon Europe research projects ReBioCycle, MoeBIOS, and Prosper, running from September 2025 to February 2026, on innovation in collecting, sorting, and recycling bioplastics. Monthly talks. This event is part of a broader knowledge-sharing initiative by three research and innovation projects funded by the Circular Bio-Based Europe Joint Undertaking, ReBioCycle, MoeBIOS, and PROSPER. These projects aim to develop practical and scalable solutions for bioplastics recycling, spanning from collection to the manufacturing of new products. In this talk, we spotlight: The challenges of the Design for Recycling criteria for bioplastics packaging from our speaker, Lorette Du Preez (European Bioplastics) link to presentation A summary of the experience of Sulapac with advocating for biodegradable plastics in the framework of the PPWR with Laura Tirkonnen-Rajasalo (Sulapac) link to presentation Video recording ▶️ The full recording can be watched on YouTube: coming soon!
