Model release for the paper, two variants are available: umf_segmentation_release.zip with the original model used to generate the segmentation maps in the paper umf_release_data.zip with a scaled-up version (v2) of the original model, doubling the parameters but keeping the same U-Net architecture. umf_release_ensemble.zip containing a multi-resolution ensemble implemented in the ensemble section of the repository, more accurate and robust to distribution shifts. Details on the ensemble model are reported in the PhD thesis "Unraveling Complexity: Panoptic Segmentation in Cellular and Space Imagery" [Plebani2024] (IU Scholarworks mirror).
