The Austrian Research Infrastructure Database
Authors: Barth, Thorsten D.;

RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE IN AUSTRIA

Abstract

Using the Austrian research infrastructure database, the overall development of publicly visible and cooperatively usable research infrastructures in the period from 2016 to 2025 is presented as an infographic. The research infrastructure database is open for collaboration and offers an information platform for the creation of new collaborations in science, research and industry. The aim of the database is for research infrastructures to be found for new collaboration projects or also to be offered via the database. The infographic shows the development trend from 799 in 2016 to over 2500 infrastructures in 2025. In 2025, the database had over 300,000 visitors from over 170 countries worldwide. The graph also visualises over 140 research institutions and companies with over 2500 cooperating infrastructures that voluntarily participate in the database. These research institutions and companies are mentioned and shown by name in the graphic.

The Austrian Research Infrastructure Database is Open for Collaboration. The database provides an information platform on research infrastructuresin science, research and industry. Research infrastructures for new cooperation projects or research services can be found or offered via the database. More information: Start :: Forschungsinfrastruktur (bmbwf.gv.at)
