The SEEBLOCKS.eu workshop “Blockchain - A Transformative Power for a Transatlantic Digital Posterity”, held on 21 March during the SES 2025 Annual Conference in New Orleans, explored emerging standardisation needs in blockchain between the USA and Europe, within a global perspective. With the EU and US representing nearly one-third of global GDP and sharing the world’s largest bilateral trade relationship, the workshop highlighted the strategic importance of transatlantic collaboration in setting global blockchain standards. Experts from both regions presented key standardisation priorities, followed by a panel discussion on fostering innovation, avoiding fragmented efforts, and paving the way for a unified digital future. The session attracted stakeholders from public institutions, academia, the ICT sector, blockchain networks, and standardisation bodies.
