Applying the FAIR Data Maturity Model at the German Medical Data Integration Centers

Abstract

Participants from the Medical Informatics Laboratory at the University Medicine Greifswald and the Berlin Institute of Health in Germany sought guidance for using FAIR tools to undertake a FAIR assessment and improve the FAIRness of their Core Dataset, used within the German Medical Informatics Initiative. "Work closely with the data owners in order to have a regular exchange on clarifications and work processes related to FAIRness. Plan more time in, to be on the safe side. It was helpful to exchange with data managers that are familiar with the FAIR principles, as a second pair of expert eyes helps to understand the situation at hand better. Be aware that FAIRification is a process and not something accomplished all at once." Supported applicant: Dagmar Waltemath, Lea Michaelis, Esther Thea Inau - Medical Informatics Laboratory, University Medicine Greifswald, Michael Rusongoza Muzoora, Berlin Institute of Health at Charité – Universitatsmedizin Berlin, Charité – University Medicine Berlin FAIR-IMPACT Support: Daniel Turner, Digital Curation Centre (DCC)
