Abstract

Das Projekt "Direct Carbon Capture and Electrolysis" (directCCE) strebt danach, einen bedeutenden Beitrag zur Klimaneutralität in der energieintensiven, produzierenden Industrie zu leisten und Österreichs Position als führenden Industriestandort zu sichern. Ziel ist es, eine neuartige Technologie zur direkten Umwandlung von CO₂-Emissionen aus Müllverbrennungsanlagen in wertvolle Rohstoffe zu demonstrieren. directCCE basiert auf vorangegangenen Forschungen zur Kombination von CO₂-Absorption und direkter elektrokatalytischer Umwandlung, die es ermöglicht, synthetische Kohlenwasserstoffe in einem vergleichsweise einfachen Prozess herzustellen. Das Projekt zielt darauf ab, diese Technologie auf semi-industriellem Maßstab zu demonstrieren, mit einer Kapazität von etwa einer Tonne CO₂ pro Woche.
