Abstract

Sprache ist zentral für die (V)Erarbeitung und Organisation von Informationen (Truscott & Sharwood Smith 2019) und spielt eine entscheidende Rolle für Bildungserfolg. Die sprachliche Umgebung, u.a. die sprachlogische Komplexität, im Elternhaus ist – unabhängig von der Erstsprache – prägend für die sprachliche und kognitive Entwicklung von Kindern (Bernstein 1971; Hart & Risley 2003). Mit Eintritt in das Bildungssystem treten Kinder mit unterschiedlichen kognitiven und (intra)sprachlichen Fähig- und Fertigkeiten auch in eine neue (bildungs)sprachliche Umgebung ein (Gogolin & Lange 2011). Im Kontext dieser nicht ‚neuen‘ Gegebenheiten diskutiert der Beitrag, wie durch die Verzahnung sprachlicher, kognitiver und inhaltlicher Ziele neuronale Strukturen (von Lernenden) simultan zur sprachlichen Entwicklung gestärkt werden können (Hebb 1949) – nicht nur im (Fremd)Sprachunterricht.
