Abstract

"Geschichte als Unterhaltungsformat im Fernsehen" Der Filmproduzent Nico Hofmann im Gespräch mit Dr. Carsten Heinze und Prof. Dr. Thomas Weber am 26.05.2014 im Rahmen der Vorlesungsreihe "Medienkulturen des Dokumentarischen" an der Universität Hamburg. Das Gespräch dreht sich um die Faszination von Nico Hofmann für historische Themen und die Bearbeitung in den von ihm produzierten Filmen. Wie wird Geschichte öffentlich verhandelt und welche medialen Darstellungen und Inszenierungen der deutschen Geschichte sind möglich? Nico Hofmann spricht in der Gesprächsrunde über die Entwicklung seiner Filme, die öffentlichen Debatten, die daraus hervorgingen und was er daraus lernte. Er gibt persönliche Einblicke, woher sein Interesse an der deutschen Geschichte und am Film kam und wie Erfahrungen seiner Familie in einigen seiner Filme aufgearbeitet wurden. Zudem beleuchtet er, weshalb reale historische Vorgänge dramaturgisch bearbeitet und mit einer emotionalen Färbung versehen werden.
