La librería de música polifónica de la catedral de Granada en 1667

Abstract

La "Memoria de los libros de canto de órgano que hay en esta santa iglesia de Granada y están a cargo de el maestro de capilla", rubricada por el maestro de capilla Luis de Garay el 19 de abril de 1667, nos permite conocer la librería de música polifónica a disposición de la capilla de musica de esta institución. En este documento no se incluyen los libros que estaban en posesión del organista o de los ministriles, ni tampoco las obras sueltas que formaban parte de la "papelería de música". The "Memoria de los libros de canto de órgano que hay en esta santa iglesia de Granada y están a cargo de el maestro de capilla", signed by the maestro de capilla Luis de Garay on 19 April 1667, gives us an insight into the polyphonic music library at the disposal of the music chapel of this institution. This document does not include the books that were in the possession of the organist or the minstrels, nor the individual works that formed part of the "papelería de música" (literally "sheet music library").
