Abstract
Parents play a significant role in the lives of their offspring. A growing body of research has revealed the influence of the parent-child relationship on a child's psychological adjustment (Cicchetti, 2010; Davidov & Grusec, 2006; Laible, 2004; Lamb, 2012; Lamb & Lewis, 2011). According to Owens and Shaw (2003), positive early adjustment in life is related to how parents set limits and rules and to how they respond to the needs of their children under both favorable and unfavorable conditions.
