Abstract
Abstract Novel superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles coated with polymerized PEGylated bilayers were prepared. Bilayers composed of 10-undecenoic acid (UD) inner and UDPEG (PEG ester of UD) outer layers are resistant to aggregation after γ -irradiation. Various methods of coating were developed to prepare small (60–100 nm) and ultrasmall (20–35 nm) particles without size separation processes.
