En Espagne médiévale : un âge d'or juif

Abstract

Abstract The Spanish Golden Age in Jewish history is a short period in Muslim Spain, going from 1002 to 1086. This period is a short interlude in a history marked by wars, the movements and the extortions, where the Jewish community gives the best of its intellectual and spiritual qualities. How does it manage it in its inferior and precarious position in Cordova, in Granada, in Seville, in Toledo, in Saragossa, and in Almena ? In the Christian kingdoms, this eleventh century is marked by the beginnings of the Jewish immigration in this era of the Reconquest. The great figures of this Jewish Golden Age in the Hebrew literature are Jonah ibn Janah, Moses ibn Ezra, Salomon ibn Gabirol and Bahya ibn Paquda.
