Avaliação sobre a técnica da piezocirurgia na extração de terceiros molares

Abstract

A extração de terceiros molares são procedimentos comuns na prática odontológica. Contudo, durante a realização do procedimento cirúrgico para sua remoção, consequências pós-operatórias podem ser observadas. Portanto, a piezocirurgia, que utiliza ondas ultrassônicas para realizar a remoção desses elementos dentários, vêm sendo estudada, na busca de encontrar uma técnica capaz de diminuir essas consequências, como por exemplo, edema, dor e trauma em estruturas nervosas. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste trabalho, consiste na realização de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, com o intuito de evidenciar a aplicabilidade da piezocirurgia na exodontia de terceiros molares, avaliando suas vantagens e suas limitações. Para tanto, foi realizada uma busca nas bases de dados PubMed, BVS e Cochrane Library. Os critérios de inclusão corresponderam a disponibilidade gratuita e completa dos artigos, que estivessem relacionados ao tema, com lapso temporal de 10 anos. Os estudos duplicados, teses, monografias e estudos que associam a piezocirurgia com outro material/substância, os quais não tiveram base na língua portuguesa ou traduções do espanhol ou do inglês, não foram incluídos. Após aplicação dos critérios restaram, portanto, 14 artigos para compor o estudo, no qual, percebeu-se que a utilização da piezocirurgia na exodontia de terceiros molares resulta numa diminuição dos problemas pós-operatórias que possam existir.
