This deliverable proposes a set of guidelines for use by the technical workpackages, enabling them to employ a user-centred design approach to development of their services. User-centred design (UCD) is an approach to design that focuses the design process on the needs of the people who will actually use the product. The purpose of this deliverable document is not to provide a pre-defined “recipe” for UCD for the BioMedBridges end-products; rather, we hope to: stimulate discussion of how UCD could be incorporated into the project; bring all partners to a shared understanding of the importance of UCD in the planning, design and evolution of BioMedBridges services for end-users; share useful resources for UCD.
