Emotion mapping using skin conductance levels

Different emotions activate different areas of the human body. This can be displayed as bodily of emotions (Nummenmaa et al., 2014) representing colder and warmer areas of the body. Furthermore, emotional arousal leads to 'emotional sweating', that is, increase in skin conductance level at different areas of the body (van Dooren & Janssen, 2012). Our aim ist to investigate whether different emotions lead to different activation patters of SCLs measured at 11 places across the body. (Nummenmaa, L., Glerean, E., Hari, R., & Hietanen, J. K. (2014). Bodily maps of emotions. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 111(2), 646-651. van Dooren, M., & Janssen, J. H: 2012. Emotional sweating across the body: Comparing 16 different skin conductance measurement locations. Physiology & behavior, 106(2), 298-304.
