Abstract Readex Microprint Corporation has been supplying government information to depository libraries in the form of nondepository publications since 1953, depository publications since 1956, as well as United Nations Documents covering the years 1946 to the present. The firm also published The Sessional Papers , as well as many other historical and literary publications. The late Albert Boni, founder of Readex, had a strong desire to furnish scholars and libraries with collections of valuable source material otherwise unobtainable to them. His goals were high quality, compact storage, and low costs. The early history of Readex Microprint versus other microforms, how Readex started publishing government information, and the current status of Readex are described.
