Abstract
<jats:sec><jats:title>Objective</jats:title><jats:p>To investigate whether cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) ferritin (reporting brain iron) is associated with longitudinal changes in CSF β-amyloid (Aβ) and tau.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Methods</jats:title><jats:p>Mixed-effects models of CSF Aβ<jats:sub>1-42</jats:sub> and tau were constructed using data from 296 participants who had baseline measurement of CSF ferritin and annual measurement of CSF tau and Aβ<jats:sub>1-42</jats:sub> for up to 5 years.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Results</jats:title><jats:p>In subjects with biomarker-confirmed Alzheimer’s pathology, high CSF ferritin (&gt;6...
