
From April 1992 it has been recommended that nurses working in the community will be able to prescribe from a Nurses' Formulary a limited list of drugs, dressings, appliances and chemical reagents ( 1 ). This article describes some of the key recommendations from the report, discusses their implications for continence advisers and presents the necessary educational initiatives required for continence advisers to prepare themselves for these changes.
