Eliminación de colorantes dispersos de las aguas residuales de tintura mediante un adsorbente natural basado en la cáscara de naranja

Abstract

Se ha estudiado la eliminación de colorantes dispersos de las aguas residuales provenientes de los baños de tintura mediante un adsorbente natural obtenido a partir de la cáscara de naranja. Mediante la modificación de diferentes parámetros, se ha optimizado el tratamiento químico que se le realiza a la cáscara de naranja. También, se ha cuantificado la extracción de materia orgánica de la cáscara de naranja y se ha estudiado la evolución de la eliminación de azúcares reductores de los diferentes tratamientos químicos aplicados. Para ello, se ha modificado la granulometría inicial de la cáscara de naranja, se ha estudiado la influencia de la adición de H2O2 y la cantidad de Ca(OH)2 añadidos en el proceso de saponificación y entrecruzamiento. Adicionalmente, se ha comprobado la eficacia del adsorbente como intercambiador iónico con disoluciones sintéticas de Cu(II), así como la eficacia de su adsorción superficial con el colorante disperso C.I. Disperse Blue 56, realizando distintos tratamientos químicos al adsorbente. Por otro lado, también se ha estudiado la adsorción del colorante disperso a valores de pH de 4, 6 y 10, tanto con el adsorbente inicial (cáscara de naranja sin tratamiento químico) como con el adsorbente final (cáscara de naranja sometida a tratamiento químico). Finalmente, tras la observación de un fenómeno espontáneo de coagulación-floculación entre el colorante disperso y el adsorbente inicial a pH<4, se ha realizado también un estudio complementario para analizar la interacción entre ambos compuestos
