Materiales compuestos reforzados con estructuras MULTIAXIALES

Abstract

La combinación de los elementos estructurales de los tejidos de calada y los tejidos de malla conduce a una estructura híbrida. Esta estructura, que pueden incorporar varios hilos de trama o a la que se le puede insertar una tela no tejida, se denomina multiaxial. La combinación de las estructuras multiaxiales con resinas poliméricas permite obtener materiales compuestos con propiedades específicas y distintas a las de sus componentes - fibras y polímeros - para aplicaciones novedosas. Con espíritu didáctico, la finalidad de este artículo es introducir al lector en los fundamentos de las estructuras de malla multiaxiales utilizadas como refuerzos de matrices poliméricas en materiales compuestos -también denominados "composites"-. Este artículo es una simbiosis de los artículos "Innovaciones en fibras y estructuras textiles para el refuerzo de materiales compuestos" publicado en el número 198 e "Introducción a los tejidos híbridos" publicado en el número 202 de esta misma revista.
