Ecotoxicología del cadmio, riesgo para la salud por la utilización de suelos ricos en cadmio

Abstract

El Cadmio es un metal pesado asociado a importantes problemas de salud. Su existencia en el suelo, ya sea por causas naturales o antrópicas, genera gran preocupación a nivel ambiental, tanto por su facilidad para ser absorbido por las plantas como por su facilidad para ser movilizado, pudiéndose incorporar a la cadena trófica. Con este trabajo se pretende conocer, a través de revisiones bibliográficas, por un lado, la toxicidad del Cadmio, su distribución en suelos con diferentes características y su importancia y repercusión a nivel ambiental y, por otro, las posibles estrategias para reducir su biodisponibilidad y movilidad en suelos contaminados.
