Morfoestructura y sedimentación terciarias en el valle de Amblés (Sistema Central español)

Abstract

Se analizan los depósitos terciarios del valle de Amblés, diferenciándose, claramente, dos ciclos sedimentarios. El primero de composición, predominantemente, silícea y el segundo de carácter arcósico, dentro del cual se distinguen a su vez varias subfacies. Sus edades comprenden desde el Paleoceno al Mioceno, ambos inclusive. La prospección gravimétrica pone de manifiesto la existencia de dos subcuencas, separadas por un umbral central, cuyas directrices fundamentales vienen señaladas por las fallas NNE y ESE. La mayor potencia sedimentaria, del orden de los 1.000 m, se alcanza en la subcuenca este. La estructura de esta depresión está condicionada por la misma dinámica de bloques que se manifiesta, en superficie, en las zonas limítrofes.
