Abstract

Esta investigacio?n posibilita establecer y ofrecer, a la comunidad científica, una metodología de análisis para estudiar las listas de encabezamientos de materia, cuya aplicación queda aquí explicitada en el ámbito específico de las Ciencias de las Religiones, pero que puede ser utilizada en cualquier campo temático.Para ello se ha realizado un trabajo de sintetización y comparación de los términos preferidos por los responsables de la confección de los índices de materia de las bibliotecas analizadas (Biblioteca Nacional española, Red de Bibliotecas del CSIC, Bibliotecas de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Bibliotecas de la Comunidad de Madrid y Bibliotecas Públicas del Estado).Posteriormente, se han analizado los términos existentes sobre diversas religiones (budismo, chamanismo, confucianismo, hinduismo, islam, jainismo, judaísmo, sintoísmo, sijismo, taoísmo y zoroastrismo). En algunos casos, dichos términos se han suplantado y en otros se han ampliado los ya existentes para dar lugar, así, a un listado lo más coherente posible de encabezamientos de materia donde todas las religiones analizadas reciban un tratamiento neutral.
