Following the geographical expansion of cultural and trade interactions established in the Early Bronze Age, Yumuktepe continued to be part of an even wider intensive network of international relationships also during the Late Bronze Age, through the second millennium. Textual records for this period illustrate the gradual emergence of an organic political system composed of different regional entities firmly connected in a hierarchized framework .
