Abstract

L’objectif principal de la journée « Rythme et arts plastiques » est de confronter différentes approches du rythme dans les arts plastiques à partir de l’intervention d’historiens d’art, de philosophes et de musicologues, en faisant alterner réflexions théoriques et méthodologiques, d’une part, études de cas, de l’autre. La plupart des exposés sont centrés sur l’art occidental de la seconde moitié du XIXe et du XXe siècle, moment où le rythme envahit peu à peu les divers champs artistiques, tant chez les musiciens que chez les peintres, les poètes et les danseurs. L’aspect comparatif n’est pas négligé : des communications seront consacrées au théâtre russe et à la calligraphie chinoise, ainsi qu’aux rapports rythmiques entre image et texte chez William Blake.
