Communautés religieuses et changement social

Abstract

Faisant suite à plusieurs colloques qui ont réinterrogé le concept de communauté, cette journée d'études organisée par le CEIFR-EHESS et le groupe IRENE se propose d'étudier les processus de communalisations religieuses et d'explorer la dimension utopique qui les innerve, dans la mesure où il semble que faire communauté au nom d'une tradition religieuse relève aujourd'hui d'une performance intelligible en termes de changement social. Le concept de communauté est encore souvent décrié, en tant qu'il serait rendu inopérant par l'individualisation des trajectoires et le développement des réseaux sociaux. Mais les « retours du religieux », leur visibilité et leurs inscriptions conflictuelles dans l'espace public invitent à reconsidérer la légitimité de ce concept, autant qu'à déconstruire l'opposition société / communauté en tant que fondement épistémologique de la sociologie.
