La littérature au-delà des nations. Hommage à Pascale Casanova (1959-2018)

Abstract

Pascale Casanova nous a quittés le 29 septembre 2018, à l’âge de 59 ans. Critique littéraire et sociologue, longtemps animatrice d’émissions sur France Culture, qui ont été saluées comme « l'un des lieux les plus stimulants pour la littérature » (« Hommage à l’Atelier littéraire », mis en ligne le 14 novembre 2010 sur Mediapart), puis professeure à l’université de Duke aux États-Unis, elle est devenue une référence dans le monde entier avec son livre La République mondiale des lettres (Seuil, 1999 ; traduit en anglais chez Harvard UP en 2004). Cette journée d’hommage organisée en France, où cette intellectuelle n’a pas obtenu de son vivant la reconnaissance institutionnelle qu’elle méritait, sera l’occasion d’évoquer sa mémoire et de discuter ses travaux, qui ont inspiré et nourri aussi bien des réflexions théoriques que des recherches empiriques.
