Propagación de especies forestales nativas promisorias en Jenaro Herrera

Abstract

Estos estudios se realizaron en base a la metodología para la investigación de propagación de especies forestales poco conocidas elaborada por Blaser (1985). Se ha puesto mayor énfasis en el estudio de cuatro especies forestales promisorias (tornillo, marupá, carahuasca y goma pashaco) principalmente en los ensayos de tratamientos pregerminativos, luz y distanciamiento de plantones en camas de vivero y transplante en campo definitivo. Las semillas para los ensayos de propagación proceden de árboles semilleros seleccionados y marcados en los bosques ubicados en los diferentes tipos de vegetación de terraza alta, media y baja dentro del ámbito del Centro de Investigaciones Jenaro Herrera. Este documento resume las experiencias obtenidas sobre propagación de ocho especies forestales nativas promisorias, seleccionadas mediante una evaluación de plantaciones de 72 especies de 10 años de edad, según su comportamiento silvicultural y el valor comercial de la madera. De cada especie se presenta una descripción de árboles semilleros, recolección de semillas, fenología de los árboles semilleros, ensayos sobre peso, viabilidad y germinación de semillas, distanciamiento y condiciones de luz en camas de vivero y transplante en campo definitivo.
