Históricamente se ha tenido un estado de marginamiento de la mujer en el cooperativismo, tenía en forma injusta cerradas las puertas a una actividad y a un trabajo de indiscutible importancia. Por fortuna mucho antes de la creación de la Comisión Continental Cooperativista de Colombia se dieron pasos de una importancia tal que han sido objeto de elogiosos comentarios en diversos países, la mujer colombiana irrumpió en el campo del cooperativismo no por el simple hecho de ser mujer, sino por ser capaz. Por eso en nuestro medio están funcionando no dos ni tres sino varias cooperativas, bien manejadas en forma directa por la inteligencia femenina, o bien con su valioso concurso, con su mística, con su decisión, con su entusiasmo, con su permanente apoyo.

Historically there has been a state of marginalization of women in cooperatives, unfairly closed the doors to an activity and work of indisputable importance. Fortunately, long before the creation of the Continental Cooperative Commission of Colombia, steps of such importance were taken that they have been the subject of laudatory comments in various countries. Colombian women broke into the field of cooperatives not for the simple fact of being a woman, but for being able. That is why not two or three, but several cooperatives are operating in our midst, either managed directly by female intelligence, or with their valuable assistance, with their mysticism, with their determination, with their enthusiasm, with their permanent support.
