Abstract

The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between the spiritual leadership of school principals and the school climate according to teachers' perceptions. The research is a descriptive study in relational survey model. In the collection of research data, Spiritual Leadership Scale [RLÖ] developed by Save (2009) and Organizational Climate Scale [ÖİÖ] developed by Yılmaz and Altınkurt (2013) were used. The data were collected from 340 teachers working in high schools in Gaziosmanpaşa district. By calculating the arithmetic mean and standard deviation values of the answers given to the sub-dimensions of the scales used to examine spiritual leadership and school climate, teachers' level of participation in the sub-dimensions was determined. Afterwards, various statistical tests and analyzes were conducted to examine the relationship between the spiritual leadership of school principals and the school climate. Before performing these statistical tests, descriptive analyzes were made by listing the demographic information of the teachers participating in the study. In order to determine whether the tests to be performed are parametric or non-parametric tests, the skewness and kurtosis values of the data were examined. According to these values, it was seen that the data had a normal distribution. On top of that, which are parametric tests; t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), post-hoc tests, Pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis were performed. At the end of the study, it was revealed that the relationship between the spiritual leadership of school principals and the school climate was significant. It was determined that the regression equation obtained regarding the prediction of mental leadership in school climate was significant. In the equation obtained, it is seen that only the sub-dimensions of spiritual leadership, devotion / altruism love, spiritual life, institutional commitment and efficiency sub-dimensions predict school climate. Therefore, it was concluded that school principals should attach importance to these dimensions of spiritual leadership in order for the climate in their schools to be at the desired level.

Çalışmanın amacı öğretmenlerin algılarına göre, okul müdürlerinin ruhsal liderliği ile okul iklimi arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmaktır. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modelinde betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında, Kurtar (2009) tarafından geliştirilen Ruhsal Liderlik Ölçeği [RLÖ] ile Yılmaz ve Altınkurt (2013) tarafından geliştirilen Örgütsel İklim Ölçeği [ÖİÖ] kullanılmıştır. Veriler Gaziosmanpaşa ilçesinde liselerde görev yapan 340 öğretmenden toplanmıştır. Ruhsal liderlik ile okul iklimini incelemek için kullanılan ölçeklerin alt boyutlarına verilen cevapların aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapma değerleri hesaplanarak öğretmenlerin alt boyutlara katılma düzeyleri belirlenmiştir. Daha sonrasında okul müdürlerinin ruhsal liderliği ile okul iklimi arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek için çeşitli istatistiksel testler ve analizler yapılmıştır. Bu istatistiksel testleri yapmadan önce, araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin demografik bilgileri listelenerek betimsel analizler yapılmıştır. Yapılacak olan testlerin parametrik ya da parametrik olmayan testler mi olup olmadığını belirlemek için, verilerin çarpıklık ve basıklık değerlerine bakılmıştır. Bu değerlere göre verilerin normal dağılıma sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Bunun üzerine parametrik testler olan; t- testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), post-hoc testleri, pearson korelasyon analizi ve regresyon analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonunda okul müdürlerinin ruhsal liderliği ile okul iklimi arasındaki ilişkinin anlamlı olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Ruhsal liderliğin okul iklimini yordamasına ilişkin elde edilen regresyon denkleminin anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen denklemde ruhsal liderliğin sadece, özveri/fedakârlık sevgisi, ruhsal yaşam, kurumsal bağlılık ve verimlilik alt boyutlarının okul iklimini yordadığı görülmektedir. Bu nedenle okul müdürleri görev yaptıkları okullardaki ikliminin istenen düzeyde olabilmesi için, ruhsal liderliğin bu boyutlarına önem vermesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
