Seksio - sezaryen: yaygınlığı ve sonuçları

Abstract

Son yıllarda tüm dünyada ve ülkemizde seksio- sezaryen doğum en sık yapılan majör cerrahi işlemler arasındadır. Ülkemizde bildirilen seksio- sezaryen oranları Dünya Sağlık Örgütünün “2000 Yılında Herkese Sağlık” hedefleri kapsamında önerilen % 15 oranından oldukça fazladır. Seksio- sezaryen seçilmiş endikasyonlarla gerçekleştirildiğinde, anne ve bebeği için hayat kurtarıcı bir cerrahi yöntemdir. Fakat tıbbi endikasyon olmaksızın kullanıldığında hem anne-bebek sağlığına hem de artan sağlık harcamaları ile ülke ekonomisine zarar vermektedir. Gebeliğe hazırlık kurslarının yaygınlaştırılması, normal doğumun özendirilmesi ve kanıt temelli sonuçlar doğrultusunda seksiosezaryen kararının alınması perinatal sağlık hizmetlerine katkı sağlayacaktır. Bu makalenin amacı dünyada ve ülkemizde seksio sezaryen yaygınlığı ile bunun nedenleri ve sonuçlarını literatür doğrultusunda tartışmaktır.
