Abstract

En el presente trabajo de investigación se evaluó la influencia del porcentaje de FeTi en el revestimiento de electrodos de soldadura, sobre la microestructura, la resistencia al desgaste, y la dureza de recubrimientos duros base Cr. El porcentaje de FeTi (45% de concentración) en el revestimiento de los electrodos estuvo en el rango de 0 a 6.85%. Los electrodos fueron empleados para depositar capas de recubrimiento sobre sustratos de acero ASTM A-36 empleando el proceso SMAW. La microestructura de los recubrimientos fue evaluada mediante técnicas metalográficas y microscopia electrónica de barrido. Para la determinación de la dureza se empleó el método Vickers. La resistencia al desgaste de los recubrimientos fue evaluada mediante el ensayo de desgaste continuo por abrasión e impacto y el ensayo de desgaste por abrasión de rueda de caucho y arena (ASTM G 65-04). Los resultados indican que los porcentajes de carburo de titanio, austenita retenida, y martensita, en la microestructura de los recubrimientos, varían con el contenido de FeTi. No se aprecia una variación significativa en la dureza asociada al porcentaje de FeTi debido al efecto compensatorio que ejerce el porcentaje de las fases observadas. En relación a la resistencia al desgaste, altos porcentajes de FeTi (5 y 6.85%) generan un ligero incremento en la resistencia al desgaste abrasivo.
