Kapucyni w Celle di Cortona

Abstract

The Capuchin monastery in Celle di Cortona in Italy is the first institution of the Franciscan order built by the friars and not taken over as an existing institution. Saint Francis visited this place three times. Other great representatives of the orders he founded were also there. The beautifully situated building has been inhabited by Capuchins since 1537, who expanded it significantly and gave it a specific atmosphere of prayer and recollection. Various pastoral initiatives are currently being developed there, the most extensive of which is the prayer school run by the brothers for several months each year. Celle di Cortona attracts tourists and pilgrims not only with the value of historical monuments, but also with an offer to deepen the Franciscan spirituality.
