Abstract

Un budoka moderno es una identidad que oscila entre el ethos deportivo y el guerrero. Por ello, este libro recorre y analiza el proceso de transformación corporal de grupos de hombres jóvenes y adultos en los clubes de pelea. A su vez, tensiona el lugar de un investigador que pone el cuerpo como parte del proceso metodológico y revisa permanentemente su presente y su pasado como luchador, competidor, educador, docente universitario y técnico deportivo. Es una obra recomendada para quienes gusten investigar y practicar artes marciales y deportes de combate, y para para quienes consideren interesante hacer una investigación etnográfica carnal a partir de la cual estudiar alguna práctica cultural que, en algunos de sus apartados, problematice obligatoriamente a la sociedad.
