Libertad de expresión y protesta social

Abstract

Los autores analizan la libertad de expresión en cuanto ejercicio de uno de los derechos humanos fundamentales de la democracia y su vinculación con la protesta social, que se puede ejercer de forma pacífica y que afecta otros derechos como, por ejemplo, el derecho a la circulación a través de los denominados piquetes. Para ello recurren a la jurisprudencia constitucional en materia de libertad de expresión y la posición de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos. Concluyen que en Uruguay está consagrada la protesta social y garantizada como forma de ejercicio de la libertad de expresión del pensamiento.
