Inteligencia emocional y estilos de crianza en estudiantes de secundaria de Lima

Abstract

La finalidad del presente estudio busca establecer la relación que existe entre la Inteligencia Emocional y los Estilos de Crianza en estudiantes de secundaria de Lima. Fueron evaluados 171 alumnos de tercero y cuarto del nivel secundario pertenecientes a una Institución Educativa estatal del distrito de Villa el Salvador en Lima. El diseño utilizado en la investigación fue descriptivo correlacional de tipo sustantivo. Se aplicó la escala de la Inteligencia Emocional de BarOn Ice – NA, adaptada a la realidad peruana por Nelly Ugarriza y Liz Pajares (2017). La escala de los Estilos de Crianza de Steinberg, por César Merino (2004). Para el análisis de datos se empleó el estadístico SPSS versión 22 y estadísticos descriptivos pruebas no paramétricas a través de la U de Mann – Whitney, donde se encontró que los estilos de crianza presentan una relación baja y directa con la inteligencia emocional. Asimismo, se encontró que los estilos de crianza presentan una relación baja y directa con los componentes intrapersonal y estado de ánimo en general. A excepción de los componentes interpersonal, adaptabilidad y manejo del estrés, los cuales no se relacionan con los estilos de crianza.

The purpose of this study seeks to establish the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Parenting Styles in secondary school students from Lima. A total of 171 third and fourth grade secondary school students belonging to a state Educational Institution in the district of Villa el Salvador in Lima were evaluated. The design used in the research was descriptive correlational of the substantive type. The BarOn Ice - NA Emotional Intelligence scale was applied, adapted to the Peruvian reality by Nelly Ugarriza and Liz Pajares (2017). The Steinberg Parenting Styles scale, by César Merino (2004). For data analysis, the SPSS version 22 statistic and descriptive statistics non-parametric tests were used through the Mann-Whitney U, where it was found that parenting styles have a low and direct relationship with emotional intelligence. Likewise, it was found that parenting styles have a low and direct relationship with intrapersonal components and general mood. With the exception of the interpersonal, adaptability and stress management components, which are not related to parenting styles.
