El cultivo del kiwi en la Comunitat Valenciana

El kiwi es un frutal originario de China, en donde crece de forma silvestre, aunque su selección y mejora se realizó en Nueva Zelanda a principios del siglo XX. Pertenece a la familia de las Actinidiáceas. El género Actinidia tiene unas 50 especies, algunas de dudosa clasificación, pero sólo tres tienen valor comercial: Actinidia deliciosa (Kiwi de pulpa verde), Actinidia chinensis (kiwi de pulpa amarilla o amarilla verdosa) y Actinidia arguta (kiwi pequeño, lampiño, de pulpa verde, denominado "Kiwiño").
