Farklı tuzluluk ortamlarında deniz börülcesi (Salicornia europea) yetiştiriciliğinin araştırılması

Abstract

Salicornia is a plant that can survive at high saline conditions. This peculiarity of salicornia distinguishes it from other plants. S. europea is generally grown naturally around Salt Lake in Central Anatolia and seabord of Aegean and Marmara Regions. Collecting plants with its roots causes in declining risk of salicornia species. This study was carried out to determine if salicornia plant can be commercially cutivated. Plant materials for this reserch were collected from different locations, namely, İzmir-Seferihisar and İzmir-Bostanlı in Eagean Sea Region; Çanakkale-Gelibolu and Edirne-Enez in Marmara Sea Region. Collected palnt s?samples were cultivated in 3 different medias (O), which were O1(soil 0.56 dSm-1), O2 (Sand 2.52 dSm-1) and O3 (Sand+Soil 0.97 dSm-1 ) and irrigated by 5 different water with different level of salinity are S1 (No salt 0.43 dSm-1), S2 (Little Salty 3.22 dSm-1), S3(Salty 6.44 dSm-1), S4(Sea water=Very Salty 32.2 dSm-1) ve S5(Excessively Salty 48.0 dSm-1). Fresh wieght, plant height, consumable weigth, branching, total water soluble dry matter content, dry matter content, salinity of consumed part of the plants were the criteria to find optimum treatment. Plant samples collected from Enez Region gave the best results with (4.27 g) fresh wieght, (17.88 cm) plant heigth, (%10 ) total water soluble dry matter content and (0.19 g) dry matter content per plant. Plants from Gelibolu gave the best results in consumable weigth (2.27 g), brabnching rate (15) and salinity of consumed part of the plants (%97.9). Avarage branching rate of Gelbolu plants were higher (8.23) than that of Enez plants (7.23). However average plant heigth of Enez plants (13.31) were found tobe higher han that of Gelibolu(11.7). The research results suggested that Salicornia can be grown in all growing medai and irrigated by five water quality in this research but sea water produced optimum results in soil growing medi whereas S4 (Sea water) water quality gave the best results with sea sand media(O1).
