Misoginia online e come uscirne vive

Abstract

L’accesso alle informazioni ha subito rilevanti cambiamenti con l’avvento di Internet, inizialmente concepito come una piattaforma fruibile da tutti e tutte che permette la rapida creazione di una rete di contatti. Come evidenziato da numerose ricerche statistiche, purtroppo, il web non è ancora un luogo sicuro per le donne: si parla in tal senso di misoginia online, ossia una forma di hate speech consistente in una serie di comportamenti di costante denigrazione ed umiliazione delle donne in quanto tali. La misoginia online si manifesta attraverso varie forme: violazione della privacy, sorveglianza e monitoraggio dell’uso di internet, danneggiamento della reputazione e della credibilità della donna. Ciò ha sollevato numerosi profili critici, soprattutto in relazione ai social media, particolarmente in voga tra i giovani, carenti di alfabetizzazione digitale, e alla partecipazione politica delle donne. Da ultimo, si auspica dunque una maggiore educazione digitale, per costruire una visione di futuro collaborativa e paritaria.
