Tra archeologia e medicina; la sezione museale “Jacopa da Cencelle. Una storia virtuale di vita e salute femminile nel Medioevo”

Abstract

Nel Museo di Storia della Medicina della Sapienza Università di Roma è stata inaugurata una nuova sezione permanente dedicata a Jacopa da Cencelle, una donna riportata alla luce nella necropoli bassomedievale (XII-XV secolo) del sito di Cencelle (Tarquinia, VT). Il progetto, fondato su un’indagine inter- e transdisciplinare, è volto a ricostruire in modo approfondito la biografia ante mortem di questo individuo scheletrico, attraverso analisi antropologiche, paleopatologiche, storiche e archeologiche. L’allestimento, che si avvale di nuove tecnologie digitali, è volto a valorizzare il patrimonio bioarcheologico e a promuovere una riflessione critica sulle interconnessioni tra ambiente, salute e genere nel passato e nel presente.
