Abstract

Il contributo esamina l'azione del papa Gregorio Magno nei confronti dei Longobardi, attraverso le relazionino la regina Teodolinda, ed i risvolti di tale azioni individuabili attraverso le tracce archeologiche ancora percepibili. La mappa delle presenze e delle assenze di elementi topografici e di manufatti costituisce una spia interessante delle dinamiche relazionali fra romani e Longobardi e dell'azione papale.
