Abstract

Currently, the pollution perceived in cities is on the rise, because of the activities that society performs on a daily basis, among which the automobile fleet is one of the most polluting emissions, as well as the burning of fuel and the increase of particles in suspension. All this has consequences on the health and welfare of people, flora and fauna, preventing life from developing properly. The main objective of this study is to "Determine the concentration of carbon monoxide and its relationship with the automobile fleet in the city of Moyobamba, 2019". Specific objectives are "Description of the characteristics of the automobile fleet in the city of Moyobamba, evaluate the concentration of carbon monoxide in the city of Moyobamba and analysis of the relationship between the automobile fleet and the concentration of carbon monoxide present in the city of Moyobamba". The research was carried out in the city of Moyobamba, with a biweekly frequency over a period of four months. The type of research is applied, with a descriptive level of study and a transversal or transectional non-experimental design. TROTEC BG20 equipment was used for gas measurements, and a data collection form was used to record the number of vehicles circulating at the different sampling points. The main result was the determination of the influence of vehicular traffic on the concentration of carbon monoxide present in the city of Moyobamba, concluding that the greater the vehicular flow, the higher the concentration and vice versa.
