Abstract

The growth of the national industrial park may bring polluents, such as metals, which are a big concern, as they represent environment contamination. The polluents may get in the soil-water-plant chain, representing a dangerous direct and indirect source of contamination for bees and their products. Besides that contamination, bee products may be of great importance as being indicators of contamination in a certain region. Thus, the objective of this work has been to identify the occurrence of metals in bee pollen such as aluminium (Al), lead (Pb) and mercury (Hg) found in the South, Southeast, West Center, North and Northeast. The quantitative analyses have been made by spectrometry through atomic absortion. According to results obtained, aluminium and mercury have been found in all regions analyzed. As for lead, only in South, Southeast and West Center have shown contamination. Thus, it is possible to conclude that it is necessary that contamination of bee pollen by metals be more controlled and used in the monitoring of environment pollution.
