Clase, contradicción y antagonismo

Abstract

En este capítulo recuperamos la noción de clase como relación social antagónica de Gunn y Holloway pero intentamos mostrar que su desarrollo más fructífero exige recuperar la distinción entre contradicción y antagonismo. A ello dedicaremos la primera sección. Allí plantearemos, en primer lugar, las distinciones entre contradicción y antítesis externa y entre oposición exterior y antagonismo para luego, en segundo lugar, señalar en qué sentido la relación de explotación capitalista es objetivamente contradictoria. En la tercera sección, sobre esa base, presentaremos una conceptualización de clase centrada en la relación de explotación, pero que entiende la relación salarial como modo de subordinación del trabajo concreto al trabajo abstracto, es decir, como un momento esencial en la subsunción del trabajo al capital. En las conclusiones, discutiremos brevemente algunas consecuencias de dicha conceptualización para la relación entre las luchas de clases y las luchas contra otras formas de opresión. Plantearemos que de ella se siguen dos posibilidades: una concepción más restrictiva de lucha de clases que exige articulación y otra más amplia, como la propuesta por Holloway, que las identifica.
