Aproximación al comercio exterior del sector automotriz argentino en perspectiva histórica

Abstract

Por lo general, el nivel de exportación en una rama determinada de la producción y su continuidad en el tiempo funcionan como parámetro aproximado de la competitividad de dicha actividad. Por ese motivo, la situación del comercio exterior es un ítem que reviste cierta atención para investigadores de distintas disciplinas. Sobre todo en países que tienen o tuvieron un desarrollo industrial considerable para los denominados tardíos, como ocurre en el caso argentino. La cuestión de las exportaciones industriales o no tradicionales para diferentes períodos históricos recibió cierta atención por parte de diversos analistas ? para señalar algunos. En este sentido, nuestra propuesta aquí es aproximarnos al análisis de la estructura del comercio exterior automotriz argentino, con especial interés en la situación de la industria terminal, y en perspectiva histórica. Es decir: caracterizar la corriente exportadora del sector en la actualidad, sus destinos y su peso en distintos mercados, como también el saldo de su balanza comercial, en el marco de las transformaciones de la actividad y asimismo sus límites históricos.
