Abstract

Existe una estrecha y frágil interrelación entre el suelo, el agua, el sol, el aire y la vida de todos los seres vivos que habitamos el Planeta. La vida dentro de un ecosistema se percibe en el flujo constante de producción, consumo y descomposición que generan las condiciones de ese hábitat. El bosque andino patagónico es un riquísimo ecosistema que alberga un universo de especies que no existen allí por casualidad, sino que han desarrollado a través de una compleja evolución, las estrategias necesarias para su supervivencia. Los "productores" en este caso son por ejemplo los árboles, pastos y arbustos, los "consumidores" serían los insectos, aves o mamíferos entre otros y los "descomponedores" son esos seres diminutos llamados bacterias y hongos. Cada uno de estos grupos de organismos son esenciales para la salud del bosque y con la simple desaparición de uno de esos actores, el ecosistema comienza a peligrar y modificarse drásticamente. Si se cortan los árboles de un bosque, colapsa el ecosistema entero, e inmediatamente veremos variar la mayor parte de su diversidad biológica. Los bosques son "redes de interconexión", que aseguran la sustentabilidad de todo el ecosistema; dentro de él, las aves son un componente esencial que asegura su continua regeneración y permanencia. Ellas habitan los diferentes ambientes dispersándose con comportamientos específicos. El Chucao es de costumbres solitarias y habita en el sotobosque, el Pato de los Torrentes prefiere los ríos rápidos de montaña, donde vive en parejas o grupos familiares, el Cóndor habita en paredes acantiladas desde la estepa hasta la alta montaña.
