Abstract

Al mirar el mar desde la costa percibimos una vasta extensión uniforme. De acuerdo a las condiciones climáticas y a la hora del día los colores del agua pueden variar, así como también la intensidad y formas de las olas. Pero esta fascinante pradera de agua que nos atrapa y hace disfrutar de horas de tranquila contemplación se rompe al sumergirnos y explorar los fondos marinos. Bajo el agua hallamos fondos diversos, relieves y corrientes cambiantes, luz cada vez más tenue. A diferencia de la superficie, el fondo marino se nos revela complejo y cambiante. Un ambiente muy llamativo es el de los fondos rocosos, en ellos se observa la mayor complejidad y diversidad de microambientes donde una gran variedad de organismos desarrollan sus estrategias de vida.
