Abstract

The political repression that took place in Tucumán (located in Argentina) during the 70's began “legally” in February 1975 with the military operation decree by the National Executive Power known as “Operativo Independencia”. Different military leaders, as part of the Command of the V Infantry Brigade, were in charge of the repressive plan. Each of these soldiers were trained in different military doctrines taught to the Argentine Army. Through the identification and differentiation of the executed military strategies ―as intelligence, occupation of the territory and identified burial spaces― in the consecutive repressive stages we analyze the different military doctrines that guided the execution plan of the military operation. At the same time, we analyze how this training in different schools ―French School and American School― could have influenced the handling of the bodies of the disappeared detainees and the forms of concealment.
