Abstract

En los contenidos de este texto se intenta principalmente que los estudiantes del primer año de la Licenciatura y Profesorado en Ciencias Biológicas comprendan como se forma el registro fósil y cómo se datan los diferentes acontecimientos geológicos para construir un calendario donde ubicar los eventos biológicos a lo largo del tiempo geológico. Por otra parte, se expone la evolución biológica durante los distintos períodos geológicos por orden cronológico, desde el más antiguo al más reciente, en los que se describen la paleobiología, la paleogeografía en el marco de la Tectónica de Placas y las características paleoclimáticas más destacadas.
